Equity Associates Inc. is an upscale, boutique mutual fund dealership and one of the largest independent dealerships in Canada.
The company was founded in 2003 by industry veteran Bob Goodish on the belief that exceptional Financial Advisors achieve great results when they control their own destiny. Our mission is to provide the services, supports and corporate structure that serve the best interests of our Advisors and fuel outstanding success for them and their clients.

Bob Goodish
CEO & Board Chair
Bob has a history of success in the financial industry since the beginning of his career in 1986 as a stockbroker in Toronto. In 1987 he joined a mutual fund company as VP Sales and successfully helped grow the company over seven years. 1995, Bob founded mutual fund dealership FundEX Investments, where he pioneered the “flat fee” concept in Canada. After seven years as President of FundEX, Bob started Equity Associates, combining the advantages of a flat fee firm with a commitment to serving successful Advisors as an independent dealership.
Karl Netten, CIM, FCSI
Chief Operating Officer | Chief Compliance Officer
Karl’s broad expertise in the investment and insurance industries encompasses investment management, anti-money laundering, privacy and financial planning. Since joining Equity Associates in 2017 as CCO, Karl has worked tirelessly to oversee that industry regulations are upheld and company policies and procedures are followed throughout the organization. As COO, Karl ensures that day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently and meet the company’s strategic objectives.
